Ask Claude or ChatGPT about public disclosures
OQRO runs a public Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Add it to your AI assistant and it can look up insider trades, Congress trades, 13F fund moves, federal contracts and lobbying for about 500 large US companies. Every answer row carries the link to the official filing, so you can check it yourself.
Server URL
https://oqro.io/api/mcpTransport: Streamable HTTP. Authentication: none. You do not need an OQRO account.
Install
Claude (claude.ai and the Claude apps)
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it OQRO, paste the server URL above and save. Leave any OAuth fields empty.
- In a chat, turn the OQRO connector on from the tools menu and ask a question.
Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan, and on Team or Enterprise plans an owner may need to add them first. A connector added to your account is generally available in Claude Desktop and the mobile apps too.
Claude Desktop with a config file
If your version of Claude Desktop does not offer custom connectors, you can bridge the remote server through the open-source mcp-remote package (needs Node.js). Add this to claude_desktop_config.json (Settings, then Developer, then Edit Config) and restart the app:
{
"mcpServers": {
"oqro": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://oqro.io/api/mcp"]
}
}
}Claude Code
Run this once in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http oqro https://oqro.io/api/mcpThen check it with claude mcp list, or type /mcp inside a session.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT accepts custom MCP connectors through its developer mode. The steps and names in its settings change often, so treat this as a guide:
- In ChatGPT settings, find the connectors or apps section and turn on developer mode (it may sit under an advanced section, and depends on your plan).
- Create a new connector, paste the server URL above and choose no authentication.
- Start a chat, enable the OQRO connector for it, and ask your question.
If something looks different, OpenAI's help center has the current steps for adding a custom MCP connector.
Other MCP clients
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can use the URL directly, with no headers or keys. For a client that only runs local (stdio) servers, use the same npx -y mcp-remote https://oqro.io/api/mcp bridge as above.
To test by hand:
curl -s https://oqro.io/api/mcp \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'Questions to try

Tools
search_companies- Find a covered company by ticker or name.
get_company- Profile, latest close and 12-month change next to the S&P 500, revenue and net income from SEC filings, short interest, and counts of recent disclosures.
insider_trades- SEC Form 4 open-market purchases and sales, or Form 144 planned sales. Filter by ticker, side, days and minimum value.
congress_trades- House and Senate periodic transaction reports. Filter by ticker, member, side and days. Amounts stay official ranges.
fund_moves- 13F position changes (new, increased, reduced, exited) for a curated set of managers. Quarter-end snapshots with no trade date.
federal_contracts- Prime contract awards from USAspending.gov. Obligated dollars and the ceiling, which is not revenue.
lobbying- Lobbying Disclosure Act spending per quarter and the latest reports for one company.
Each row returns source_url, the official record (SEC EDGAR, House Clerk, Senate eFD, USAspending.gov or lda.gov), and oqro_url, the matching OQRO event page. Every tool description includes a short note on how to read its figures.
Limits and rules
- Read-only. The server cannot change anything and does not see your OQRO account.
- At most 50 rows per call, with a fair-use rate limit per IP address. Look-back windows are capped at two years.
- Coverage is about 500 large US companies, mostly the S&P 500, and a curated set of 13F managers. Records we flagged for review are left out.
- Congress amounts are the official ranges, never an exact value. A 13F is a quarter-end snapshot with no trade date. A contract ceiling is not revenue.
- Your assistant writes the final answer. It can still misread a figure, so open the source link before you rely on it.
How each source is retrieved and classified is described in the methodology.
OQRO is a research tool. It describes public disclosures and context calculated from them. It is not investment advice, does not give personalized advice and does not recommend any transaction.
